Bill Zaner is a full-time artist. For almost fifty years, he has devoted his full attention to producing fine, naturalistic paintings of Texas and the West. With the transcended vision of the poet who walks with Nature, he is constantly discovering inspirational subjects to paint in the ordinary as well as the spectacular landscapes he finds from the clean sweep of the Gulf Coast through the lyrical vastness of the Big Bend, from the monumental depths of Arizona's Grand Canyon to the majestic peaks of Colorado. And nothing in between escapes the appreciative notice of this 'naturalist with brush and canvas.' NEW - Additional Bill Zaner paintings on Page Two!

While the painting of portraits provided his living for many years, Zaner has returned to his first love, landscape, of which he says "fulfills every need of the artist. Variety of subject is there, as well as mood and atmosphere, color transition and compositional arrangements, all providing limitless challenge." Many times he chooses subjects of elemental simplicity, something which might be overlooked by less sensitive eyes, in order to overcome a subtle compositional or color problem to reveal the inherent beauty within.
