Chef Exchange, Inc. was developed by Restaurant veterans to encourage exploration within the culinary industry.

The Chef Exchange Network is an association of premiere Restaurants and Chefs from top culinary locations around the world and top seasonal locations. By joining the Chef Exchange Network, a Sous Chef who finds himself out of work during off-season, an Executive Chef who is looking to brush up on the cuisines of another culture, or a Pastry Chef who wants to train under a master at a particular location will be able to access the network and find the perfect location to hone their skills. In addition, if you are a Restaurant owner that would like to feature an experienced Chef in a particular cuisine, bolster your kitchen during peak seasons, or temporarily replace a Chef who is on vacation (or traveling through Chef Exchange), you will be able to use the Chef Exchange Network to locate the perfect complement to your kitchen.

Who We Are

Stephen Shannon, President
Stephen Shannon brings his expertise in Management, Public Relations, and Technology to run the day-to-day operations of Chef Exchange, Inc. Traveling around the world for numerous companies, he experienced first hand the vast pool of expert chefs who wanted, but never had the opportunity, to practice with the wide variety of regional cuisines. Chef Exchange was born out of this wish to provide all chefs the chance to hone their skills in kitchens around the globe.

Ashley Bown, Vice President of Culinary Resources
Ashley Bown is an experienced chef of fourteen years who knows first-handed the value of internships and sabbaticals. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute he interned in Aspen, Colorado and Chamonix, France. After having the opportunity to travel and learn from different walks of life he was able to create a style of his own, allowing him to open up two successful restaurants with his own signature. He is now the Executive Chef and Partner of two restaurants in Aspen, Colorado.

Alvin Hom's previous experience comes from creating and managing the technical recruiting division at a San Francisco based recruiting firm. Alvin has been recruiting talent in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1995 and started his own recruiting firm that has become a dominant force in the industry in only a couple of years.
