Billy Fotis and the Crow Valley Band as described by Eric Brace of the Washington Post:
"More than 30 Years ago Billy Fotis realized he was a bluesman, and he took the long road to his calling. It was 1968 at the Alexandria Roller Rink. Onstage was B. B. King opening for Canned Heat, and in the audience was a teenaged Fotis. "I heard B. B. and I knew that I had to play the blues," he says. Life, as it often does, sent Fotis down another road for many years, until eight years ago, when his brother-in-law gave him a harmonica for his 40th Birthday. Working up his harmonica chops by playing at area blues jams, Fotis put together the Crow Valley Band two years ago and began working the bar and festival circuit. "When I think about how late I started at this, I have to say I've been pretty lucky to be doing so well so fast," says Fotis. He's joined onstage by Guitarist Doc Reed, Bassist Scotty Bistline and drummer Chris Wing."

CHICAGO follows not your usual housewife Roxie Hart who gains dubious notoriety when she kills her boyfriend, invents her defense and manipulates everyone from her trustworthy husband to the fickle media and the unsuspecting public. Featuring well known songs ALL THAT JAZZ, RAZZLE DAZZLE and MR. CELLOPHANE and dances choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse. CHICAGO was written by Tony Award-winners Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse with music by John Kander. CHICAGO is directed by Walter Bobbie.
Sleek, sexy, sophisticated and humorous, CHICAGO won 6 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival, Best Direction of a Musical and Best Choreography. Inspired by a story in the Chicago Tribune in 1924, CHICAGO follows the exploits of housewife Roxie Hart. Roxie gains notoriety when she kills her lover, fabricates a defense and manipulates everyone from the jailhouse matron to the hack reporters. Veteran television actor and Emmy-winner Robert Urich headlines as lawyer Billy Flynn. Urich is know for his starring role in UPN's THE LOVE BOAT: THE NEXT WAVE, SPENSER: FOR HIRE, VEGA$, and LONESOME DOVE.
This show has been hailed as one of the best around by all of the critics. The show was just reviewed, and here's what Ben Brantley of the New York Times had to say.
If you go to the box office before it opens (10 a.m. on Monday - Saturday and noon on Sundays), you can buy tickets for $20 each on the day of the show. There are only 20 pairs of tickets each day, and they are in the third and fourth row of the theatre. The run begins this Wednesday and goes till the first week of Jan. As always, call the box office to confirm, but this is a great deal. Tickets usually range from $45 to $200 each. Let me know if you go, cause I'd like to know what you thought.
