The Cibolo Nature Center will host monthly meeting meetings for a new Storytellers Guild, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 pm. Future meetings will be held at 7 pm Wednesdays, Oct 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 6, at the Cibolo Nature Center at City Park off Hwy. 46.

The group will encourage amateur and professional storytellers to develop their skills and network with other storytellers, schools, libraries, and cities throughout the state. Brent Evens will welcome all interested parties who want to tell stories or just listen. A suggested time of 10 to 12 minutes will be set aside for each story.

The Cibolo Storytellers Guild plans to join the Tejas Storytellers Association. Tim Tingle, a board member of the state association and master storyteller, will be in attendance. His earlier performance of Choctaw stories at the nature center was received with a standing ovation. Also attending will be another master storyteller, Doc Moore, who tells Texas tales and historical vignettes.
