| Friday, April 05, 2002 Yes, it was finished by Easter! In fact, I finished it at 3:00 Saturday morning, and it made its debut at Easter Vigil. Are we thrilled? Yes, we are! Limerick hôtelsPhotos are below. This thing is GORGEOUS, I tell you! I'm feeling VERY pleased with myself, I have to admit.
Tuesday, March 19, 2002 I have the flu or something equally unpleasant today, so I'm home being cranky instead of being out in the world having fun and/or working. Friday, March 01, 2002 The super-cool thing going on in the background of my life is that my mega-fabulous best friend and her equally splendid spouse just bought themselves a house and are moving in next month. We're already discussing projects. Big, messy projects. This is going to be SO fun! If it hasn't come through in previous posts, I gotta say, I love these people. My life is populated by some amazing souls, but these two are solid proof that God loves me. Ok, I'll stop being squishy now. I'm housesitting for some other friends this weekend, so I get to play with their kitties. I'll bring some handwork with me, so I'm going to be VERY popular with the feline population. Thursday, February 21, 2002 This one is another foray into the exciting world of liturgical vestments. I'm making a dalmatic for my friend the fabulous Deacon (remember the stoles?), a festal dalmatic to be exact. That means it's for the really big celebrations, such as Easter, when white vestments are worn for the eucharist. We've chosen 6 shades of white/cream/beige silk doupioni, plus a sheer metallic gold organza that will be layered over some of the squares, to do a patchwork design on the front and back, and the body will be white silk doupioni. I plan to couch some interesting cording over the patchwork, and leave the ends hanging with beads knotted into the ends. Does that make sense? I can never tell... |
